In memory of Gustav Mahler on the centennial of his death today, May 18, 2011. Eric Owens, bass-baritone and Dolce Suono Ensemble perform "Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen" (arranged by Arnold Schoenberg) on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Glencairn Museum, Bryn Athyn, PA. Dolce Suono Ensemble's "Mahler 100 / Schoenberg 60" project featured works by Mahler, Schoenberg, and five world premieres by Steven Stucky, Steven Mackey, Fang Man, David Ludwig, and Stratis Minakakis at two concerts in May 2011. The project will continue in 2011-2012 with more performances of music by the two titans and world premiere by Shulamit Ran.
