Eric Owens, bass-baritone, and Dolce Suono Ensemble rehearse Steven Mackey's "Herr Gutmann," at an open rehearsal with the composer. They'll give the premiere performances as part of Dolce Suono Ensemble's "Mahler 100 / Schoenberg 60" May 11 & 15, 2011.
The work is a song setting of a letter from Gustav Mahler to his concert manager Emil Gutmann, in which he insists that the rehearsal schedule they agreed upon for his Symphony #8 not be changed.
