Seeded by slso on 12 Oct 2020
Author: St. Louis Symphony Orchestra
SLSO On the Go, the orchestra's outreach effort that is providing music to healthcare facilities, senior communities, public spaces, and even people's home, paid a visit to Crown Center for Senior Living in University City. There, a string quartet performed works by Mozart, Dvorák, and Florence Price for residents who were eager to get outside and hear live music. This clip from the concert is taken from the fourth movement of Dvorák's String Quartet No. 12, nicknamed the American Quartet. The movement, and the entire piece, reflects the composer's vacation to rural Iowa. SLSO musicians in this quartet are Shawn Weil and Nicolae Bica, violins; Andrew François, viola; and Jennifer Humphreys, cello.
