Seeded by akronsymphony on 13 Nov 2019
Author: Akron Symphony
Franz Joseph Haydn composed more than 104 symphonies during his lifetime, but it was the four years that he spent in London that many consider the high point of his career. During that time, Haydn composed 12 symphonies that collectively came to be known as the London Symphonies and which are considered among the highest of symphonic art. Music Director Christopher Wilkins shares his thoughts on Haydn’s work, including his Symphony No. 95, which we will perform on November 16 as part of our concert featuring Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. Tickets, starting at just $25, are available online at or by calling the Symphony Box Office at 330.535.8131.
