Leonard Bernstein: Touches-Chorale, eight variations and coda (1981) Alexander Frey, pianist Performance at Olive Street Baptist Church, Bakersfield, California Alexander Frey's name has become synonymous with the piano music of Leonard Bernstein as well as the composer's Peter Pan, and he has been called "Bernstein's leading interpreter" (The Prague Post). His recording of Bernstein's complete piano solo piano music on the Koch International Classics label is considered to be the definitive performance of that music. He is the first person to have performed Bernstein's complete piano works in public, and has played the whole cycle many times in Europe, the United States and Asia including the world premiere performances of the composer's Five Anniversaries and Thirteen Anniversaries as well as the European and Asian premieres of the composer's Sonata for the Piano.
