Elise Carter, flute, Veronica Salas, viola, and Daniel Hane, bassoon, perform Douglas Townsend's CANZONA, a trio inspired by the canzoni of Venetian composer Giovanni Gabrieli. This performance took place at Saint Peter's Church in Manhattan on April 23, 2013, at the 4th Annual Social Networking Concert. Audio by Eric Somers (Sandbook Studio), video by Jean Townsend. (This work was originally premiered in 1953 at the 92nd Street Y by 3 world-renowned musicians: Otto Luening, flute, George Grossman, viola, and George Zuckerman, bassoon. Luening and Zuckerman are pictured in this video, along with Gabrieli and Townsend, plus Carter, Salas, and Hane.)
