Carpe Diem String Quartet is excited to announce their final concert of the 2011-2012 Seize the Music series: A Persian Musical Feast, an unprecedented three day mini-festival spanning Friday through Sunday, May 4 through 6. The mini-festival will celebrate the culture, literature, music, and food of the Persian people. Presented in large part through the generous support of PNC Arts Alive, the series is inspired by the commission of a new work for CDSQ, "Khabiri Quartet," which was composed by Columbus's own, Richard Jordan Smoot. Also featured will be vocalist Shoreh Elhami, santoorist Dariush Saghafi, and members of the Columbus Dance Theatre. The mini-festival is focused on increasing the understanding and appreciation of Persian culture and people outside of the normal context the media and our politics dictate today.
