This is a biased review, as I am a fan of Di Wu. But Astral audiences do not give standing ovations lightly, so my excitement was shared by a lot of other people. The juxtaposition of Clara Schuman's Mazurka with her husband's Davidsbundlertanze was brilliant. Her playing was romantic and loving. The Kernis piece was a lot of fun, and reminded me alternately of jazz and Scriabin. But the Gaspard by Ravel was stunning. Di has the ability to keep one's attention throughout each piece. It just never flags.
