The Pinnacle Ensemble was founded in 2006 by its director Michael Waldron for a concert in Trinity College Chapel, Cambridge. Since its formation, the group has given concerts across the UK (most recently in Salisbury, Winchester and Portsmouth Cathedrals), as well as numerous venues across Cambridge and London. Now based in London, the group exists as a professional ensemble of singers and instrumentalists, with acclaimed performances of repertoire ranging from Purcell and Gibbons, to works by contemporary composers such as Lukaszewski, Grier and Tavener. Recent projects have included a première devotional performance of Francis Grier's Sword in the Soul (featuring poet Geoffrey Hill and opera librettist Alice Goodman), a critically-acclaimed debut as part of the City of London Festival this summer in a concert marking the culmination of the King James Bible anniversary celebrations, a Bach Motets tour in October and a concert as part of Peterborough Cathedral's acclaimed concert seri

Now based in London, the group exists as a professional chamber choir with repertoire ranging from Purcell, to contemporary works by Lukaszewski, MacMillan, Pärt and Tavener.

Michael graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge in 2010, having spent four years as Organ Scholar under the direction of Stephen Layton. During his time there he was involved with the Choir's numerous international tours, concerts and recordings, including a month-long tour across Australia in September 2010.
