Darius Milhaud, Composer
(1892-1974). French composer. Milhaud played violin and studied at the Paris Conservatoire. He traveled widely, including stays in Brazil and the U.S. Milhaud taught at Mills College in Oakland, California and later at the Paris Conservatoire. One of the greatest French composers of the 20th century, Milhaud was highly prolific in every musical genre, creating a style and sound that is uniquely identifiable.
