Biography
Polish Duo 19:21 are winners of 2018 Boulder International Chamber Music Competition "The Art of Duo" (Colorado). They are also prize winners of some of the most important chamber music competitions in Europe including the Lódz International Kiejstut Bacewicz Competition for Chamber Music and Chamber Tournament Bydgoszcz (Poland), as well as the Internationaler Hammer klavierWettbewerb FORTEPIANO+ (Austria).

The unusual combination of piano and accordion dates back to the 19th century, when composers such as César Franck, Camille Saint-Saëns, and Antonín Dvorák exploited the combination by writing pieces for a duo of piano and harmonium—the latter being a predecessor of the modern concert accordion. These pieces are very rarely performed due to the fact that harmonium lost its importance in the 20th century. This is why Duo 19:21 strives to spread and popularize these forgotten masterpieces of the Romantic era. Compositions such as Scherzo Capriccioso Op. 36 (Alexandre Guilmant) and Six Duos for Piano and Harmonium Op. 8 (Camille Saint-Saëns) are often audience favourites during their performances.

Although the Duo performs mostly 19th century music, their repertoire and musical preferences are much more varied. Their live recording of Paganini Variations by Witold Lutoslawski was shared by a popular Internet platform "The Violin Channel," dedicated to classical music. Moreover, they received special prizes for their contemporary music performances at BICMC "The Art of Duo" in Boulder for Tomasz Golka’s True Green, as well as at Alkagran International Accordion Competition in Czechowice-Dziedzice (Poland) for Bagatelles by Uroš Rojko.
