Biography

Boston-based mezzo-soprano Britt Brown's 2017-2018 season saw her return to Boston Lyric Opera in Puccini’s Tosca; Guerilla Opera in the premiere of Andy Vores’s Chrononhotonthologos, and starring in the Boston premiere of Kaminsky’s As One with Boston Opera Collaborative in the spring. During the 2016-2017 season included her winning the 1st place prize in the NATSAA recital competition for the New England Region and the Lee Cass Award at the National Competition in Chicago. Britt enjoyed performances with Boston Midsummer Opera, Opera Collaborative, MetroWest Opera, and Beth Morrison Projects, Boston Lyric Opera, and Odyssey Opera. Britt had the pleasure of premiering composer Amber Vistein’s chamber opera for mezzo, electronics, and quartet, Man will not outlive the weather, at Brown University. An active oratorio singer and recitalist, Britt was a featured soloist Rockport Music's Lecture 101 Series for the second season; as a recitalist with The Boston Art Song Society, and was seen as the title character in Argento’s From the Diary of Virginia Woolf ; and in a staged production with Schumann's Frauen liebe und -leben at the historic Zabriskie House mansion in Cambridge.
