Biography
Tom Crawford is a familiar face in Chicago’s early music community, as a soloist and a regular member of many ensembles.  Equally at home singing countertenor and baritone, some of his recent notable performances include the premiere of Jacob Bancks’ Litany of the Sacred Heart with Schola Antiqua of Chicago, Pacifica Quartet, and eighth blackbird, and his Newberry Consort debut in Music and Miracles: The Cantigas de Santa Maria.  In February, Tom will make his Haymarket Opera debut in their production of Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s La Déscente d’Orphée aux Enfers.  In 2010, he founded the vocal ensemble King Solomon’s Singers, devoted to the performance of Renaissance polyphony and chant; the ensemble recently released its debut recording, Sacred and Profane Love.  In his other life, Tom is an astrophysicist.
