Established more than 90 years ago, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs (SPC) is Australia’s largest choral organization, with unique national and international standing.

Apart from presenting its own annual concert series in prestigious venues such as the Sydney Opera House and City Recital Hall, SPC is the chorus of choice for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and appears regularly on the Sydney Festival program in special projects, including the Symphony in the Park concerts.

Sydney Philharmonia exists to champion the power of the voice and to enrich the lives of people through exposure to compelling performances of choral music.

Each year up to 2,000 volunteer choristers sing with our concerts and education programs. Our principal choirs Chamber Singers, Symphony Chorus and the youth choir VOX all have a reputation both nationally and internationally for presenting grand symphonic choral works and for their acclaimed ‘a Capella’ and contemporary programs. Events such as ChorusOz bring amateur choristers from across Australia, even from around the world, to perform at the Opera House over one weekend.

SPC has performed at Olympic events, recorded sound tracks for Oscar winning and nominated films, (“Happy Feet” and “Australia”) and performs at major community events such as the Sydney Festival, Bondi Beach Dawn Chorus, Symphony in the Domain.
