Biography
Guitarist, Peter Sprague, was inspired by his father's love of jazz and began guitar when he was twelve. As a teen he studied one year at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Michigan.  In 1976 Peter moved to Boston and worked with many notable musicians including Pat Metheny, Madame Chaloff and Albin Czak. Mr. Sprague has recorded 16 of his own albums on the Concord, Xanadu, and SBE record labels and has been a guest artist with  Chick Corea, Dianne Reeves, Hubert Laws, Billy Childs, David Benoit and Sergio Mendes. In 2007 he was awarded Best Jazz Artist by the San Diego Music Awards. Peter has been an instructor at the Musicians Institute/Hollywood and the California Institute of the Arts/Los Angeles. Currently Peter is on the faculty of the UCSD Jazz Camp. Mr. Sprague operates his own recording studio called SpragueLand where he is the producer, engineer, guitar player, composer and arranger.
