Biography
American vibraphonist and composer Eldad Tarmu was born in Los Angeles, studied in Israel at Tel Aviv University and holds a Master of Music degree from California State University Los Angeles. He is currently a professor of World Music Studies at Hudson County Community College. He has recorded and performed with some of the most significant figures in their musical genres, including Poncho Sanchez, Ernie Watts, Taj Mahal, Cybill Shepherd, Freddie Hubbard, Billy Higgins and Frank Morgan. He has performed in over twenty-five countries around the world in various festivals and concert tours. He has six CDs under his own name. His latest project involves a string quartet, vibraphone, bass and drums and crosses neoclassical, Middle-Eastern modes with jazz harmonies. He also is the leader, composer and orchestrator of a symphonic jazz project in Europe.
