Biography

Violinist with a broad range of facets, Heide Sibley is bridging Historic Performance Practice, Contemporary Music as well as Free Improvisation.

A busy career on the international scene, Heide is in high demand to collaborate with some of the most reputed ensembles of today such as Les Musiciens du Louvre Grenoble (France), Concerto Köln (Germany), Concentus Musicus Wien (Austria), Ensemble Modern Frankfurt (Germany) and others.

Heide Sibley is founding director and leading violinist of the critically acclaimed chamber ensemble Alma Amadé.

A passionate chamber music player, Heide Sibley has performed and/or recorded with members of the Juilliard String Quartet, Edgar Meyer, Anton Kuerti, Bonnie Hampton and many other distinguished artists.

Heide is former Concert Master at the Opera of Tours (France) as well as Assistant Concertmaster at the Metropolitan Orchestra Lisbon (Portugal).

She held postitions as Professor of Violin at the Academia Superior in Lisbon and at the Université du Maine in France.

Heide was student of legendary Prof. Max Rostal at the Musikhochschule in Cologne.
Other teachers have included Eric Rosenblith, Maria Grevesmühl, David Takeno, Isidore Tinkleman and Richard Gwilt.

She earned a “Bachelor of Music with Honors” degree at the New England Conservatory Boston as well as a “Master of Music” and an “Artist Diploma in Chamber Music” at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Heide Sibley is First Prize Winner of the National Competition of German Conservatories and Music Academies as well as other german national competitions.

In parallel to her career as a violinist, Heide Sibley is also a certified NLP Coach and Holistic Counselor for Musicians (www.promusicus.com).
