Cellist Alina Lim is as versatile a chamber musician as she is a performer in solo and orchestral music. Ms. Lim has appeared in various venues across North America including the Carnegie Hall in NY, South Orange Performing Arts Center in NJ, Friends of Music Society in Stamford, NY, Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto, Canada, and Rolston Recital Hall in Banff, Canada. Her career has also brought her to halls in Europe in Germany, Norway, Poland, and the U.K., including the Royal Albert Hall in London. 

With the Allant Trio, Ms. Lim has recently collaborated with violist, Toby Appel at the Yehudi Menuhin Chamber Music Seminar and School in San Francisco. The trio was selected as a winner at the Beverly Hills Auditions, through which they will be featured in various venues across Southern California this season. An advocate of chamber music, Ms. Lim has also performed in community settings for people who have limited access to classical concerts. The Allant Trio has given performances at such facilities including the Bailey House, the James Lenox House for seniors in NYC, and at the soup kitchen of Calvary-St. George’s Episcopal Church.

Ms. Lim has performed the Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations with The Toronto Symphony Orchestra as the winner of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra's Concerto Competition. She has also performed concertos with the National Repertory Orchestra, The Academy Symphony Orchestra of the Royal Conservatory of Music, and the Kitchener-Waterloo and Oshawa-Durham Youth Orchestras. She has recently performed as part of the recital series of Juilliard at The Korea Society in New York City.  Ms. Lim won various awards and scholarships through The Kiwanis Music Festival of the Greater Toronto Area and The Ontario Music Festivals Association. She was also a two-time winner at the national finals of The Canadian Music Competition. 
Ms. Lim has performed on the NPR show From the Top, where she received the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award, and most recently, she was a recipient of the Jonathan Madrigano Entrepreneurship Grant from the Juilliard School this year with the Allant Trio.

She has been principal cellist of various orchestras throughout her career such as the Mannes Orchestra, National Repertory Orchestra and the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra. As an orchestral musician, she has performed in venues of international recognition, including the BBC Proms in London and the Lincoln Center Festival as part of the Juilliard Orchestra Tour in the summer of 2012. Ms. Lim was an orchestral fellow at the Aspen Music Festival and School for two summers, in addition to a participant in other music festivals such as ENCORE School for Strings, Meadowmount School of Music, and the Chamber Music Residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts.

Ms. Lim is currently pursuing a Professional Studies Certificate at the Mannes College under the tutelage of Marcy Rosen. Ms. Lim began her cello studies with Joowon Kim at The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada and went on to continue her studies with David Hetherington. She is also graduate of The Juilliard School, where she studied with Richard Aaron in the accelerated Bachelor of Music/Masters of Music program.

Currently teaching at the Fort Lee Music School in New Jersey, she has also been a sought-after instructor, chamber music coach and master class presenter. She has taught at Belvoir Terrace, and has been a guest lecturer at a variety of settings with the Allant Trio, including The Juilliard School and the Geneva Conservatory in New York City.
