Vale Rideout (Hades) has garnered critical acclaim for his musical artistry and superb stagecraft throughout the United States and Europe. This season, he sings Mime in Das Rheingold (North Carolina Opera), the title role in Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex under Julian Wachner (Washington Chorus, Trinity Wall Street), the world premiere of Vella’s The Hyland Mass (St. Patrick’s Catherdral), Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony (Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestra), Carmina Burana (Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra), and Berlioz’ Roméo et Juliette (Richmond Symphony). He has performed with Lorin Maazel as soloist in Britten’s War Requiem (New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic), and as Male Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia. He can be heard in Florentine Opera’s recently Grammy nominated recording of Floyd’s Wuthering Heights, and their Grammy award recordings of Aldridge’s Elmer Gantry, and Davis’ Rio de Sangre.
