DATES TBD 2021/22 - Masterworks 1: The Resurrection
Spokane, Washington
Sunday, 19 September 2021 - 8:00 PM
Monday, 20 September 2021 - 3:00 PM
Presenter: Spokane Symphony
Conductor: James Lowe
Rescheduled from May, it seems fitting to open the 75th Season with Mahler's Resurrection symphony. Moving from despair, through hope to a final moving re-birth, Mahler's epic work takes the listener on an incredible journey from darkness to light.

Audience favorite, world-class pianist Jon Kimura Parker joins us for Mozart's most famours piano concerto. Music of playfulness, joy and solace, the slow movement was used in the Swedish film Elvira Madigan, and the work has taken on that name ever since. Mozart's own father called the work fiendishly difficult to play, and the last movement is Mozart at his exuberant best.

In what is bound to be a moving program, we celebrate the start of the Spokane Symphony's 75th anniversary season and the resilience of the human spirit.
