Washington, D.C., District of Columbia
Saturday, 29 February 2020 - 7:30 PM
February is Carnival time and PASO takes you on a journey to Rio de Janeiro with the warm sounds of bossa nova and more!

Accompanying PASO is guitarist Dani Cortaza with his quartet and three Brazilian singers performing bossa nova songs by Antonio Jobim.. This exciting concert also features other works inspired by Brazilian popular and folk music, such as Le Boeuf sur le toit (The Ox on the Roof), by French composer, Darius Milhaud and the showpiece Dansa Brasileira by Brazilian composer, Camargo Guarnieri. In keeping with the show’s theme of highlighting music inspired by popular folk dance, PASO performs Arturo Marquez’s sultry Danzón No. 6, with soprano saxophone solos by Chris Hemingway. So chase away the winter blues and join PASO for a warm evening of Brazilian music.
