Macomb Symphony Orchestra: The Baroque Concerto
Clinton Township, Michigan
Sunday, 26 March 2017 - 3:00 PM
Conductor: Thomas Cook
The Idea of the concerto, an interplay between soloist(s) and orchestra, was” invented” during the baroque period in the late 17th century. The colors and textures of the Macomb Symphony Chamber Orchestra will be matched by the brilliance of the soloists featured, all members of the orchestra.

Be with us for the Concerto for Harp and Orchestra by Handel, a rarely heard treat. You can’t imagine a concert of baroque concertos without one of over 200 by Vivaldi, in this case the Concerto for Two Trumpets and Orchestra, a brilliant show stopper. J.S. Bach will be heard from by way of his Brandenburg Concerto #3, featuring a group partnership for nine solo strings. And there’s more!

If you haven’t had a chance to witness the virtuosity of the MSO soloists, now is your chance to get “up close and personal.”
