Arizona Musicfest expands its 2017 orchestral offerings with the Festival Orchestra Chamber Players. Regarded as the benchmark of Baroque music, Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos offer a masterful blending of virtuosic solos with ensemble precision. The Chamber Players will pair Brandenburg #3 with Mozart’s Piano Concerto #21, perhaps the most famous of all the composer’s concertos for the keyboard. The gifted Bryan Wallick returns to Musicfest as the soloist. Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite, a charming neo-classical homage to the music of Baroque master Giovanni Pergolesi, closes the afternoon.
