NEC Philharmonia, Loebel/ McTee, Haydn, Nielsen
Boston, Massachusetts
Wednesday, 2 November 2016 - 7:30 PM
Ensemble: NEC Philharmonia
Conductor: David Loebel
This season, NEC's orchestra programs allow you to discover the music of living composers—many of them women—alongside familiar masterworks.

Cindy McTee's Circuits, heard tonight, appears on an all-McTee recording released by Naxos in 2013, with her husband, Leonard Slatkin, conducting the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

During her college years, McTee studied informally with Krzysztof Penderecki in an unusual arrangement where she lived in Poland with the composer's family while teaching English to his children.

This concert is dedicated to the people of Haiti and their recovery from Hurricane Matthew.
