Robert Rollin is professor of composition and director of the New Music Society at Youngstown State University.
Robert Rollin's Toccata was commissioned by pianist Avguste Antonov. The piece combines long set patterns of 26-28 pitches with blues-related melodic elements. The middle section forms a lyric contrast to the outer sections, and contains a warm nod to Chopin. The work is dedicated to Avguste Antonov.
