Like last time I was told I could use this site, 2 movements are missing (last time it was Bruckner), and this time, no instructions on how to download my "free" MP3 - Why do I have to enter my credit card information?

If the ISO is unable to do this right, why embarrass themselves trying?

What do you mean 2 movements are missing? I can listen to the full Brahms & Beethoven and I don't have to enter my credit card. I just pushed the listen button.

It sounds great too by the way! The recordings of the ISO are always top notch!

(I didn't go to the concert, so I'm not sure about the free download stuff?)

I click "Download" on the e-mail, I look at the 5th and next to the 3rd & 4th movements I see "Work Only" while I see "In cart" for the others. I guess I should have expected this as this occurred last year (though I did get and enjoy ISO, Venzago / De Pue, Kerr / Bach)

I understand "In Cart" to mean I can download if I am willing to enter my credit card info for something that was touted as "free", but I see no explanation for "Work Only".

But maybe I am too stupid to understand your user interface and so I'll just forget it and lower my expectations.

FYI: I did renew my ISO series for the 29th year, but as an IT professional think the ISO should focus on the customer interface if they wish this to be a success otherwise the ISO should stick to their forte: music.

Put your download code into the box at the top right corner of the screen (right under the log in/log out prompt, cart, profile and downloads prompts) and it will take you to a different page where you can download the concert as a zip file and don't have to enter your credit card/address or name. I'm logged in, but I think you can still access it from the non-logged in side.

It's in the header, not on the actual webpage, if you can follow.

Followed your instructions and it worked. Thanks.

Though I wondered: Is this process considered intuitive?

Perhaps the ISO could opt to include these instructions in the "Download is ready" e-mail for those of us over 20! I had enough trouble trying to figure out how to send the required text message to request notification of the download being available.

It's not intuitive, it's bad web design. Not the ISO's fault, it's an InstantEncore issue, and it makes sense from a sales standpoint (how many people do you think just got frustrated trying to figure it out and paid for the concert?)

I agree, though. It would be helpful if they'd include that info in the email they send. Perhaps there's contractual reasons they can't?

Our relationship with InstantEncore is still relatively new - it's been going on about a year - and some of the features we have introduced are even newer than that. Of course there have been some glitches along the way and both InstantEncore and the ISO work hard to correct them when they occur. We do want the experience on InstantEncore to be just as friendly and welcoming as the experience at the Hilbert Circle Theatre, so we appreciate the feedback and promise that we will take it into consideration for future albums.

Like with many other online retailers, we sometimes decide not to release all movements of work for sale. Rather, those movements are only available when the work is purchased whole. But even in those cases, the entire work is available for free streaming. And when there is a free download, all available movements are included.

With the Bruckner, there was a delay in posting the two inner movements because of some artistic and post-production concerns, but those have since been resolved and the whole symphony is now available. I believe you can go and download it with your initial code. If not, please let me know and I can send you a new one.

Thanks for listening to us on InstantEncore, and thanks for your many years of support as a subscriber. And thank you to the other listeners who have chimed in. I hope everyone has enjoyed the performance of Beethoven 5 and Brahms 1.

Best,

Scott Harrison
