This is Volume 2 of our series devoted to the published violin concertos of Grazyna Bacewicz who is regarded as one of the most distinguished Polish composers of the twentieth century. Although well known in Poland, she deserves wider recognition. Joanna Kurkowicz performs Violin Concertos Nos 2, 4, and 5 with the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Lukasz Borowicz. Volume 1 received glowing accolades, including a Diapason d’or and nominations for the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik in 2009 and the Fryderyk Award in 2010. Joanna Kurkowicz enjoys an active and versatile career as an award winning soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician.
