I was so much more moved than I had expected to be by the performance of the Orchestra of St. John's on March 15, 2009. Being quite familiar with the pieces that they were playing, I wasn't anticipating any surprises or unusual surges of emotion. However, I found myself listening to this concert as though these works were new to me. I heard things in the music that I had never before heard – cello and bass lines that are usually overpowered by the violins rose up, allowing me to listen to pieces that I have known since I was a child as though they were new works. Added to this, the acoustics at St. John's Episcopal Church are so amazing, that I felt somehow a part of the music, rather than just an observer. Thank you so much to Conductor Ronald Mutchnik and all of the performers for making this such a moving experience.
