In the Spring of 2012 Ms. Martinez returns to Covent Garden to debut in the role of Alice Ford in Falstaff , followed by another debut, Antonia, in Les Contes d'Hoffman at Theatre de La Bastille. In the Fall she reprises her beloved Rusalka at the Bayerischer Staatsoper in Munich. Ana Maria Martinez's vibrant, shining soprano was a true fortress of resolve in the perilous leaps and plunges of Fiordiligi's difficult showpiece, "Come scoglio." The American singer brought off both of her arias to stunning effect and received properly thunderous ovations.

A first glance at the program of this two-CD set, featuring the Baden-Baden Symphony with conductor Sylvain Cambreling, one may have pause with its offering of the Verdi Requiem, a Haydn Symphony and a Mozart choral work. But upon closer inspection, one realizes there is a method to the madness and a unique relationship between the composers' works appears.
The recording features Ana Maria Martinez, Yvonne Naef, Marius Brenciu and Giorgio Surian, all singing in fine voice.
