Maurice Ravel, Composer
(1875 - 1937). French composer. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire, and while a student he produced several compositions that quickly became well known. His solo piano works are among the most innovative ever written. His orchestrations of piano works by Debussy and Mussorgsky (especially, Pictures at an Exhibition) became widely popular.
