Anton Bruckner, Composer
(1824 - 1896). Austrian composer and organist. His most important compositions are his symphonies and choral works (which are best represented by his motets and masses). His Symphonies no 3, 4 "Romantic", and no 7 are among his most popular works, but the Symphony no 8 is his masterpiece, especially the Adagio movement which, like most of his music, is intensely spiritual.
