(1644-1703).  Bohemian composer.  One of the founders of the Germanic school of violin playing, he served in the Salzburg court orchestra and was eventually appointed Kapellmeister.  His compositions include works for violin, especially the "Mystery Sonatas", operas, and sacred works.
