Elmhurst Choral Union is an auditioned volunteer chorus singing classical choral works with a full professional orchestra and soloists.
We perform twice each year, early December and early Spring, at beautiful Hammerschmidt Chapel on the campus of Elmhurst College, in Chicago's western suburbs.
Past concerts have included Bach's B Minor Mass, Mozart and Brahms Requiems, and choral/orchestral works by Beethoven, Schubert, and Robert Ray, plus opera excerpts
We've recent added a February concert of selections from lighter classical, musicals, and Great American Songbook, featuring solos and small ensembles from within the choir.
We also appear occasionally with Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra concerts and at special events in Elmhurst.
Our skilled singers range from high school students to retirees. We have been based at Elmhurst College since our founding in 1952.
