From Copland's patriotic fanfare to Grofe's Grand Canyon Suite, the November program is one of true American classics. Helping bring the music to life is the Dubuque Chorale, featured in Copland's songs, a wordless chorus in William's Hymn to the Fallen, and in two popular selections from Bernstein's Candide. Rounding out the program is Iowa composer James Poulsen's Heartland Poem, a single movement work inspired by the history and settling of the midwest.
