One of the world’s most distinguished piano trios presents a programme that spans the whole genre. An elegant Haydn trio, just recorded by the Kungsbacka on Naxos, begins the programme, leading into a late atmospheric masterpiece, Faure’s Op. 120. The Lento from Huw Watkin’s impressive Trio was composed in 2009. The Kungsbacka end with perhaps the most famous Trio of all, Beethoven’s “Archduke”.
