We had the pleasure of attending a recent jam session with the Yat Sing Club of Portland OR. These wonderful, generous folks allowed us to listen in as they read Chinese opera scores into the wee hours of the night. They've been meeting weekly since the 1940's, and there can be no doubt that these passionate players are the heart and soul of Portland's China Town. We were doing a little research on our China trip, eager to hear some of the instruments that we'll be playing with in Beijing.
I was given this score of one of the pieces they read the evening we were there....anyone hazard a guess as to the title????
