Local pianist and composer, Rachel Grimes, traveled to New York City this week taking a little bit of Kentucky, with her new album Book of Leaves. Her concert at Le Poisson Rouge, an evening that also included pianist Sarah Cahill and at a later set Matt Haimovitz, drew praise from The New York Times. 
BBC Music also has a nice review. Rachel is touring a few other US cities, with stops at the Kennedy Center’s Millenium Stage and the Swedish American Hall/Cafe du Nord in San Francisco.
