Johannes Brahms may be best known for his large orchestral works, but he was just as at home with simpler constructions, such as unaccompanied songs and choral works with piano backing that feature here, all performed with much enthusiasm and pace by the London-based Consortium chamber choir under Andrew-John Smith.
