Kansas City’s classical music scene in July has traditionally been dominated by Summerfest. This year, Summerfest celebrates twenty years of presenting some of the area’s most outstanding chamber music musicians in a variety of works ranging from the Baroque to the modern. The quality is always superb, so you will want to be sure to check out these programs. But also sharing the July spotlight is the Jewell Early Music Summer Festival, now in their fourth year, with a series of four concerts and workshops featuring period instruments and performance. Add two splendid faculty concerts by the faculty of the Heartland Music Academy and Midwest Chamber Ensemble's program called 'Summer Concert' and July has a little of something for everyone.
