Kate Lindsey, the mezzo-soprano who was part of the riveting performances of Tippett's A Child of Our Time in 2009, and sings Bach's Mass in B minor this weekend, told me that what she found most impressive about her Vogue shoot was the visit to the offices of Conde Nast. That, and hearing a staffer say, "We'll see what Anna has to say about the pictures." Lindsey recalled thinking, "Anna Wintour is going to look at this!"
