I've wandered for years into the desert, and many times, expected and planned a compositional retreat.
In 2007 I went to Palo Duro canyon, found the most isolated campsite and setup.
The inspirational part has always been great. Isolation, removal from interference, communion with nature. This trip I found it entirely too bright all day, as well as near 100 degrees,
so I found sleeping during the day and working at night was more suitable.

The second dance of my "Two Desert Dances" is "Blue Moon Mist" and the program notes describe night treks into the desert.
