The clues for Thursday were: We're downtown, not far from
KMOX, with a view of the Arch. Some
might say, from where we are there's
a terrace view. We're in a lovely garden, but it's not a garden where plants
and flowers grow--although there are
plants here, that's not what people come to see.
Chaplin's Tramp managed the
slick sidewalks with graceful aplomb, waved to the
passing automobiles and hoped that someone would spot "his" noble figure soon,
(yes, Charlie hath transformed!) since the
temperatures actually seemed to be dropping by the
minute.
And then someone
appeared, racing--as well as one could--up the
sidewalk, even as two others emerged
from office buildings to cross the City Garden
to
claim City Lights tickets. Alderman
Craig Schmid got there first.
Congratulations.
You have one more day to find "Where's Charlie?" Listen to
Charlie Brennan's show on KMOX 1120AM, at 9:50 on Friday.
