Two excellent dance companies, the David Parsons and the Paul Taylor, perform on the same evening this next week, once again making a difficult choice for fans of dance (although Parsons also performs the next evening). Either way you can’t lose. Also on the agenda these next two weeks are the Lyric Opera and the UMKC Conservatory of Music opera program with "H.M.S. Pinafore" and "Hansel und Gretel," respectively, both tuneful classics. The KC Symphony season continues with the music of Sibelius, Ravel and a world premiere by contemporary composer Avner Dorman. Choral music fans will enjoy the elegant sounds of Octarium, singing music of contemporary American composers, and also Musica Vocale and UMKC’s Collegium Vocale in concert, along with the William Baker Festival Singers. And that’s just a little taste of all the great music that awaits you.
