After opening his 2009-10 season with his Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra debut, the German-Canadian cellist Johannes Moser headed to California for concerts with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the kick-off of his U.S. tour with the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra and Ivor Bolton. Moser opened his seven-city tour with Salzburg's venerable ensemble at California's Orange County Performing Arts Center, where Mark Swed of the Los Angeles Times wrote: "He was a delight. He enthusiastically anticipated each turn of phrase. His tone sang and carried easily. He engaged the orchestra musicians, and they seemed to grow better by the measure when playing with him."
