I was at a local eatery waiting for take-out. A couple of guys were standing around talking rock & roll. They talked about bands, how bands had changed, who was the new bass player in a band, where a band was touring, who was writing great songs again, and so forth--while one guy's date got very bored. I thought, "I wish people talked about classical music like that." Then I realized, people do. But when the classical fans do it, they're called--fill in the blank--dorks, snobs, elitists, weirdos.
