In the summer of 2013, Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute will bring together the brightest young players from across the country to form the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America. Below, Carnegie Hall's Executive and Artistic Director Clive Gillinson reflects on his experience in Great Britain's National Youth Orchestra and how it transformed his musical and personal horizons.

During NYO-USA's inaugural season, famed maestro Valery Gergiev leads the orchestra with Joshua Bell as violin soloist to Washington, DC, Moscow, St. Petersburg, and London. Interested applicants can register to apply now, as well as preview audition excerpts and a sample audition video.
