June offers a surprising variety of classical music and dance performances for you, proving that several of the area’s fine classical music and dance organizations remain active into the summer. Topeka proudly presents its impressive Sunflower Music Festival concerts for two weeks mid-month. And don’t forget that the Kansas City Symphony performs its last two classical concerts in June, the first starring violinist Joshua Bell plus the new Casavant organ in Helzberg Hall, and the second featuring Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 9. The Kansas City Chamber Orchestra also wraps up its season, with a performance of Haydn, Mozart, and Weber works. The Tivoli will simulcast "I Vespri Siciliani" from Teatro Regio di Torino and "Raymonda" from Bolshoi Ballet.
