This week we highlight the Philadelphia International Music Festival, currently in their 15th season. The Philadelphia International Music Festival is a summer music program for students of all ages and skill levels throughout the United States and abroad. This unique opportunity of spending 14 days immersed in classical music education and performance, with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, includes private lessons, daily orchestra rehearsals, daily music education courses, optional daily chamber music rehearsals, solo performances and competition. Daily private practice times, faculty recitals and master classes featuring principals from the orchestra are also included. For this show, Ken was able to have a phone interview with CEO Sandy Marcucci. Sandy is the co-founder of both the Atlantic Cape Camps and the Philadelphia International Music Festival. Through her innovative marketing and media campaigns, Sandy has facilitated sports, music programs and clinics in the U.S. and France, England, Iceland and Croatia. Sandy is the former Ass't. Director of Communications for the New Jersey General Assembly and former staff member of the National Defense Council Foundation in Washington DC. She is a graduate of Liberty University in Virginia and is a member of the Friends Board at the Curtis Institute of Music.
