The Professionals pages on LocalArtsLive were started around this time last year and since then 64 individuals, ensembles, organizations, and schools have joined. Though it's much easier today, it still takes some legwork to recruit new members, and summer is a great time for this effort. In the process of reaching out to the classical community, you'll learn more about it and build connections. There are other interesting jobs to be done, too, so if you'd like to spice up your summer and meet musicians and professionals involved in classical music in Philadelphia, please contact me here! While I can only offer volunteer work this year, these projects/activities promise to be fun and a great experience. Most of the work can be done from any location with internet access and we can meet on occasion wherever it's convenient.
Here are some rough descriptions of items I could use some help with over the summer:
1. Prep and planning for 2 showcases to take place in July and September
2. Recruit more musicians, ensembles, schools, and organizations to become members of LAL
3. Attend concerts and write blogs (I will get free press tickets for you)
4. Audio recording/post processing work for showcases
5. Conduct interviews with local leaders of classical music
6. Conduct a marketing study for a potential new service to be offered by LAL
The first to respond will have first pick at the tasks, so don't hesitate to contact me even if you can't start right away.
