We finish the season this evening with the last performance of Teseo. And it also the last performance of my thirteen years as General Director of Chicago Opera Theater. I remain nominally in charge untl the end of August but my successor. Andreas Mitisek, is really calling all the shots from now on, as it should be. I am a demob happy lame duck!
We will see how it goes. I will be away from Chicago from tomorrow evening just for a long weekend in London, but back to the fray next Wednesday. There is still work to be done, not least trying to clean up and clear out my office! And we still have to raise more money, lots of it, to pay for our season just ended. So if any of you feel minded to make a contribution to celebrate my departure you can do so by going to the COT website. If you want to celebrate 13 happy years then you can double it! There is even a space to fill out for either "In Honor of" or "In Memory of". Take you pick!
